Our Honorees:
Senator Vincent Hughes
has been advocating for the children and families of Philadelphia for years, working tirelessly to ensure safety in our schools, investing in affordable housing projects, and providing opportunities for access to reading materials and instruction through the Read to Succeed Program.

"I'm honored to be recognized by an organization that is helping Philadelphia children and families in so many ways," said Senator Hughes. "Teamwork makes the dream work, and when we work together with a common goal and mission, we have the power to impact generations. I look forward to celebrating that collective impact at the Gala with CORA and other award recipients including my lovely wife, Sherly Lee Ralph, and the Preston and Steve Show."

Sheryl Lee Ralph plays a teacher on ABC's Philadelphia-based sitcom "Abbot Elementary," and in real life has been a fierce supporter of educators with some of her recent efforts raising $1.5 million to support teachers and public schools. Ms. Ralph has been commended for her work on HIV/AIDS and for bringing awareness to the mental and behavioral health issues within the African American community. "The health and well-being of our children and families is a top priority," Ms. Ralph said. "It is an honor and a privilege to be recognized by an organization like CORA Services and to share this award with my husband and best half, Senator Vincent Hughes."

The Preston & Steve Show, hosted by Preston Elliot and Steve Morrison, have been championing for the children and families of Philadelphia for over 25 years. Every weekday, from 6am to 10:30am, the show airs on 93.3 WMMR and Preston and Steve are joined by Casey Foster, Kathy Romano, Nick McIlwain and Marisa Magnatta. Through their Campout for Hunger program, the Preston & Steve Show has collected and donated over 22 million pounds of food to Philabundance since its inception in 1998.

Longtime supporters of CORA Services, The Preston & Steve Show has also helped to raise money and awareness for CORA's programs by promoting the organization on their show and attending countless events. "We are grateful to CORA Services for their service to the community and have tried to use the Show to bring awareness to the amazing work they do," said Steve Morrison. Co-host, Preston Elliott agreed stating, "CORA Services is a wonderful partner, and we are honored to be recognized by them for our commitment to serving the people of Philadelphia."
